This modern map above suggests there's been some land fill or a change in sea level on the western side but note it shows a modern marina close to the location ships are shown in older images? 

Note the words Hagoromo. Yes the legend of the celestial being with a feather robe which was the topic of a famous NO robe and various poems and other art. 

The tourist industry here dates centuries! It has factors beloved to Japanese and Western tourists!

Great views of Fuji. A traditional legend site. Seafood. Accessibility by land and sea. Parks and beaches. Temples and shrines. 

Finally a Kimono with Fuji and since there's pine trees possibly Miho no  Matsubara 

The Japanese put Fujiyama on so many things !
