Miho no Matsubara One

for our next theme we're be looking at depictions of Miho No Matsubara and Fuji in various mediums of Japanese art.

#Mihonomatsubara #miho #fuji

First a modern photo taken on the eastern ocean side of the Miho cape.

Some maps to see you where this is in relation to other sights and roads and rail.

One of the reasons Miho was and still is a popular Fuji viewing spot was that it wasn't far off the main road to Kyoto and could also be accessed by boat across the bay south of Fuji and with a working port plenty of seafood dining too plus the nearby attractions of Nihondaira and its shrines and temples.

This swordguard is probably a view of Miho no Matsubara .

Nearly every view I've found been it a painting or print shows sailboats and pines.

Next post I'll show you more prints and paintings.
