I wish the modern form of DONG fuyu in Japanese looked more like the archaic script forms!
This is a scan I've done a color edit on and will do further work on to make it look more "WINTRY"
Some of the archaic forms show a dot in the middle that represents the sun but I wonder if this very old form shows the vastness of a clear winter sky over the North Chinese Plains looking empty yet also making one feel closed in by the cold?
